Long before the celebration, before the hugs, the happy tears, and the photographs, there's an invitation that builds anticipation and brings people together. In a world where so much of our communication is digital, thoughtfully designed paper has a way of making life's moments feel even more meaningful. Whether it's a wedding invitation, a handwritten note, or a holiday card tucked into the mailbox, these are the pieces we save, display, and revisit for years to come.
That's why I created Heron & Ivy.
My love for art began in preschool and continued to grow through years of creating. In high school, designing our yearbook sparked my passion for graphic design, and by my senior year I was selling hand-painted watercolor Valentine's cards. That passion eventually led me to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of South Alabama.
While I've always loved creating beautiful things, it wasn't until I designed my own wedding invitation suite that I discovered my love for stationery. I realized an invitation is so much more than a piece of paper. It's the very first glimpse into a celebration, setting the tone long before guests arrive and creating excitement for what's to come.
Today, I design thoughtfully crafted paper goods for weddings and life's many celebrations, from bridal showers and birthdays to holiday cards and personalized stationery. My goal is to create pieces that not only reflect your vision but also become keepsakes you'll treasure long after the occasion has passed.
I'm known for thinking through the details my clients may not have considered and helping transform their ideas into something that feels beautifully and authentically theirs. I believe the smallest details often leave the greatest impression, and I want the design process to feel just as enjoyable as the finished piece.
When I'm not designing, you'll usually find me trying a new recipe, tending to my succulent garden, picking up fresh flowers for the house (hydrangeas and peonies are my favorites), or spending time with my husband and our families.
The joy of others truly brings me joy. There's nothing more rewarding than hearing that a client felt completely seen, that their vision came to life, or that their guests couldn't stop talking about their invitations. Those moments are why I love what I do.
My hope is that years from now, your invitation is still tucked inside a keepsake box, your holiday cards are saved in a favorite drawer, or your handwritten notes are remembered long after they've been read. Because the most meaningful paper isn't simply beautiful—it's the paper that's kept.
